About Us
Our Story
WhyBlinking.com was created in 2023 by a group of electricians, engineers, and lighting enthusiasts who were tired of the lack of good information available to help homeowners troubleshoot and repair lighting problems.
We all had countless stories of being called out to jobs that ended up being simple fixes, just because the homeowner lacked the basic knowledge of how lighting systems work and what to check when bulbs mysteriously go out or start flickering.
We came together to create WhyBlinking.com as a free resource where we could share our decades of combined experience to help save homeowners time, money, and frustration.
Our goal is to provide the information you need to be able to confidently tackle lighting repairs and understand exactly Why Your Light is Blinking.
Our Team
The WhyBlinking team includes master electricians, electrical engineers, lighting designers, DIY experts, and customer service professionals. We provide help to homeowners across the world.
What unites us is our passion for lighting and genuine desire to help people learn how to maintain and repair the lighting systems in their homes.
When we’re not creating DIY articles and troubleshooting guides for the site, you can find us installing lighting systems, volunteering with Habitat for Humanity to bring light to those in need, teaching lighting design courses at the local college, and serving our community through various electrical apprenticeship programs. We love lighting and are committed to passing on our knowledge.
The WhyBlinking Difference What really sets WhyBlinking.com apart is our dedication to clarity, accuracy, and actually empowering DIY-ers. Our articles and how-to guides are crafted for the average homeowner without too much technical jargon or confusing terms.
We want to educate you on how lighting systems work so you can think through problems logically rather than resort to costing guesswork fixes. Our troubleshooting flow charts are designed specifically with DIY repairs in mind.
We’re always just an email away at whyblinking@gmail.com if you still have questions after reading our guides.
Let us know what light you’re working on, what symptoms you’re seeing, what troubleshooting steps you’ve tried, and what didn’t seem to work.
